Smile With Your Eyes

Welcome!

I'm Sarah and I'm training for the New York Marathon this November 1st, while raising funds for the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, in memory of my mother Robin Hunt.

She always used to tell me "Smile With Your Eyes," so that's what I named this blog. Over the years I've come to realize that phrase means a lot more than just how to take a good photo.

Please visit my fundraising page here.

For more information on ADAA please visit their website www.adaa.org.

You can read "Robin's Story" here, as written by my Dad.

And "Living With Anxiety, Advice for a Surviving Spouse".

I can be reached here: sarah.hunt1 at gmail dot com.

Thanks for stopping by!

I can’t believe I haven’t posted all week. This one slipped away from me!

Well, I’m scheduled to run 18-miles tomorrow morning, but the mountains outside my home are on fire and there’s no wind. This is good for the firefighters and bad for everyone in the valley that needs to breath.

So we’ve all been advised to not do any strenuous activity indoors or out. It’s supposed to last until Sunday. I’m going to try and get my run done Sunday if I can, if not I may take some personal time next week to fit it in. However, I may just have to alter my training schedule all together which wouldn’t be the end of the world.

It’s hard doing this without a team or a couch. All I’ve been using is the Internet and the running world on the Internet can make one feel a little inferior (there is a blog I read where the writer normally runs 16 miles every morning!) I need to remember what I’m running for (my mom and the experience) and that I’ve done this once before and I did not run as much I’m running now and I still finished.

As a matter of fact, 18 miles was the longest training run I did before the LA Marathon. I’m on track to do two 20 mile runs before the race, so I have room to back off a bit if I need to.

Okay, enough rambling. I’m afraid I’ve got smoke intoxication!
