Smile With Your Eyes

Welcome!

I'm Sarah and I'm training for the New York Marathon this November 1st, while raising funds for the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, in memory of my mother Robin Hunt.

She always used to tell me "Smile With Your Eyes," so that's what I named this blog. Over the years I've come to realize that phrase means a lot more than just how to take a good photo.

Please visit my fundraising page here.

For more information on ADAA please visit their website www.adaa.org.

You can read "Robin's Story" here, as written by my Dad.

And "Living With Anxiety, Advice for a Surviving Spouse".

I can be reached here: sarah.hunt1 at gmail dot com.

Thanks for stopping by!

Update!

Hello! I have just returned from a weekend in Palm Springs where I didn’t do a hint of running. I actually think it may be illegal to run when it’s 170-million degrees outside and if it isn’t, it should be.

I completed an 8-mile long run last Wednesday night. I plan on doing a 12-miler this Thursday (I have guests in town this weekend, so can’t do it then) and then next weekend that last 20-miler is going to get done!

If I had to give any advice to non-runners that want to take on the marathon, it would be “clear your calendar”. I’m really bad about planning outings, trips, dinners, etc., and forgetting that I have this training to do. The long runs are necessary, time consuming and generally knock me out for the majority of the day when I’m done.

Five more weeks until the big day! I’m nervous and excited, but mostly I’m ready to take a break. I like running, but sometimes I just want to do yoga for an hour and come home and drink a glass of wine. :-)
